Viona Latschaw
Project HELP Director

Viona runs the Project Help program, a cooperative effort between the Washington State Labor Council, the business community and the state Department of Labor and Industries. The program's goal is to facilitate effective communication and dispute resolution between workers and employers involved in workers' compensation claims. Viona conducts a bi-annual conference, seminars and countless workshops-by-request across the state that are devoted to explaining our workers' comp system to labor and management representatives. Along with the Project Help Claims Specialist Kathy Petruzzelli, Viona’s mission is to ensure that all of these stakeholders understand their rights and responsibilities under the law. Contact Project HELP at 1-800-255-9752.

Before joining the WSLC in 1996, Viona worked in the trade unions as a member of Teamsters Local 117 and Local 130 in Seattle for 21 years. She has more than 32 years working experience and knowledge in the labor community. Her prior positions have included Project Help Claims Specialist, Payroll Specialist and support staff for several departmental programs. She served as an OPEIU Local 8 Shop Steward.

Viona serves on several advisory boards and committees, and previously served as an advisory board member for Edmonds Community College Board for Professional and Technical Advisory Committee. Viona attended Highline Community College.
