WIOA/TAA Labor Liaison
As WIOA/TAA Labor Liaison, Caitlyn Jekel works to find alternatives to business closures and job dislocation and when layoff can’t be avoided, she helps the affected workers access job training and reemployment program opportunities available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and Trade Adjustment Assistance programs. She works closely with fellow WIOA/TAA Liaison Bill Messenger.
Together she and Bill work to ensure dislocated workers maximize unemployment and re-employment services to best support themselves, their families and careers.
Before joining the Washington State Labor Council staff in July 2010, Caitlyn was a Workforce Investment Act Dislocated Worker Counselor at WorkSource Grays Harbor in Aberdeen. She is a graduate of the Master of Public Administration program at The Evergreen State College and a native Minnesotan.
Caitlyn lives in Tumwater with her husband, Jonathan, their son and two dogs.
Although her position takes her across the state, Caitlyn is based out of the WSLC Olympia office and can be reached at (360) 705-9469, or via email.
