2006 House Vote Descriptions

  1. ESHB 2661 (prime sponsor: Murray) -- Civil rights/Nondiscrimination bill making it illegal to hire or refuse to hire someone based on their sexual orientation. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 61-37, Jan. 27)

  2. SHB 3003 (Conway) -- Apprenticeship utilization standards for DOT (Department of Transportation) public works projects. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 68-30, Feb. 7)

  3. E2SHB 2572 (Morrell) -- The Small Employer Health Insurance Partnership Program, offering premium assistance to small businesses’ employees who are under 200% of the federal poverty level. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 57-41, Feb. 8)

  4. E2SHB 2353 (Pettigrew) -- Giving child care providers the right to collectively bargain with the state over subsidies and other issues. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 84-14, Feb. 10)

  5. EHB 1069 (McIntire) -- Requiring performance audits for tax preferences. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 61-34, Feb. 11)

  6. SHB 3185 (McCoy) -- Creates an administrative remedy for the collection of back wages owed to workers. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 98-0, Feb. 11)

  7. SHB 2780 (McDermott) -- Allowing state employees to make PAC payroll deductions just like private sector and county/city workers can. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 97-1, Feb. 13)

  8. ESHB 3079 (Conway) -- Health Care Disclosure Act reporting on the employment status of Medicaid and BHP recipients. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 94-3, Feb. 14)

  9. ESSB 6386 (Prentice) -- Supplemental budget adding Basic Health Plan slots, restoring other recent cuts and stabilizing public employee pensions. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 53-43, Feb. 24)

  10. SSB 6185 (Keiser) -- Codifying the Family and Medical Leave Act into statute. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 54-44, March 1) This vote was not counted for some legislators (marked "-") who voted "No" because domestic partner coverage was removed.

  11. ESSB 6885 (Kohl-Welles) -- Unemployment Insurance reform restoring two-quarter averaging in the calculation of benefits. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 97-1, March 2)

  12. ESHB 1672 (Conway) -- Requiring employers to implement patient safe lifting programs. "Right" vote: YES. (Passed 85-13, March 7)
